Apple's 'The New iPad' Is it a failure of renaming?


Apple named their newly announced iPad as 'The New iPad'. Some people thinks that it is not a success renaming for the new iPad because this naming method is lose of clarity. People will do not know the product's coordinates because it didn't use name such as 'iPad 2 HD', 'iPad 2S', or 'iPad 3'. They just called it as 'The New iPad'. People can't know the coordinate or the trend of the product line if apple does not publishing their products according to the specify order, such as 'iPhone 3G,3GS,4,4S'. Therefore, we can see that people are complaining about the naming of the new iPad as this is really confusing for the consumer.

According to the response by Apple officially, apple said

Bad:

-Not clear coordinate of the corresponding product.
-Easy to be confusing about the generation of the iPads
-Can't give a specific name about the product
-It lowers its awesomeness. When there is generation number such like the iPhone's one, people will rumor about it before it announce and this can give a situation that many people is discussing about it. This improved the quality and the mystery of the product. Moreover, now it's like updating the product line such as MacBooks, they update it per year, and people are not focusing or discussing about it so much. This shows that if they update the iPad line regularly, and they are not thinking of redesigning it, people will lose their interest on the new iPad announcement, this affect the 氣氛 when it is around the announcing date. Rumors may not be posted because if there is no specify product number, it is very hard to predict what the new version of iPad is included.
